The History of Kidz Paradise
Kidz Paradise was founded from a passion for offering high‑quality childcare and early education to families in Reading, Pennsylvania. Founder LaVenre Johnson began her journey in 2008 by opening a family childcare program in her home. Her dedication and love for children helped the program grow beyond what a home setting could support.
After months of searching for the right location, LaVenre discovered the building where Kidz Paradise stands today. With determination and vision, she transformed the empty space into a warm childcare and learning center for young children.
By May 2012, Kidz Paradise opened its doors to families in West Lawn, Shillington, and Sinking Spring. The center began with six enrolled children. As word spread about its nurturing environment, enrollment increased quickly throughout Berks County.
In June 2013, Kidz Paradise joined the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS program and earned a STAR 1 designation. At that time, the center served about 45 students. By October 2013, it advanced to STAR 2 with nearly 65 children enrolled. In December 2015, Kidz Paradise achieved a STAR 3 designation, showing its commitment to high‑quality early education.
In December 2020, Kidz Paradise proudly earned a STAR 4 designation, the program’s highest level. Today, the center continues improving programs, classrooms, and learning experiences to provide exceptional childcare for local families.
At Kidz Paradise, our mission is to offer a safe, loving, and educational environment where every child feels valued and supported.
